It's something I've done since I was a kid when I feel like crying, and the sensation of the water going down my throat soothes the "lump in the throat" sensation and sometimes quenches the need to cry.purple_kangaroohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02543172194041505144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37025305.post-29219952436345199932007-09-30T21:02:00.000-07:002007-09-30T21:02:00.000-07:00It never occurred to me to turn the main light off...It never occurred to me to turn the main light off. He wants it on, so we leave it on. I imagine he'll get motivated to learn how to sleep in the dark by the time he starts sharing his bed -- which is the only situation in which I can see a disadvantage to leaving the light on... other than the planet and all that.VABhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06652301858477760996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37025305.post-82989272963029803122007-09-30T15:09:00.000-07:002007-09-30T15:09:00.000-07:00We make explicit step by step lists for sitters. ...We make explicit step by step lists for sitters. Many prove that they can't (or won't) read.

On vacations, we go with double pull ups and sleeping bags with liners over the bed linens. It (so far) has saved the beds, and the sleeping bags usually come out OK, too.

Thankfully, we get by with two night lights per room. Of course, we do have to have music playing all night long (usually one song repeated over and over and...).

I guess it's good that you've discovered the water/bravery connection, but I'll be darned if I know what you could substitute for it.Club 166https://www.blogger.com/profile/01816977079856902634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37025305.post-71327859591190577452007-09-30T08:14:00.000-07:002007-09-30T08:14:00.000-07:00Isn't it amazing -out of the mouths of babes reall...Isn't it amazing -out of the mouths of babes really - how suddenly the light bulbs turn on in our minds with the little clues they give us -eventually. Of course, that is all provided we don't jump off the deep end before these little tidbits come our way.
